Keep membership aware of labour activity by:  

Local Union

       National Union
Labour Movement - Alberta and Nationally

       Produce Newsletters

       Recommend courses for schools/seminars

Occupational Heath & Safety
Education on Health and Safety matters.
 
       Arrange on-site inspections
 
Investigate/Report on Health & Safety problems

Social Committee
 
Social Functions - organize approved functions - such as Retirement Banquet, Barbecue, Children's Christmas Party, Social evenings.

Equal Opportunities

Shall endeavor to educate the membership as to the need for employment equity programs.

Shall review and report on issues of interest to Women and visible minorities.

Shall make policy development recommendations on Women's and visible minorities issues.

Shall recommend courses that may be of interest to the membership, or stewards.

Shall review contract language and course materials to ensure that Women's and visible minorities concerns and noted.

Stewards

Shall meet regularly to discuss and evaluate problems that may arise in their area.

Shall ensure that all members are informed as to the deliberations of this Union.

Shall recommend educationals dealing with Labour Relations matters.

Shall investigate and report on matters relating to our Collective Agreement and labour practices.
